Iv'e read in my book that neuropathy could be reversed with the right medications. There are different kinds of neuropathy that you could have. It could involve anywhere on your body. When I went to my doctor explaining what was going on with me she told me that it wasn't neuropathy because it only happens in your feet and legs. I went to another dr he told me that I was experiencing neuropathy.

Lyrica(Pregablin) is approved for diabetic neuropathy and Fibromyalgia. I used to take it for my Fibromyalgia but it didn't help. It's supposedly the new and improved Gabapentin/Neurontin in that you don't have to take up to a few thousand milligrams to get a therapeutic dose and therefore less side effects.

I have neuropathy in my feet and one leg. I have a low back injury and it seems that the doctors cannot agree on the actual cause, be it from the back injury or diabetes. The one thing they agree on is taking Lyrica. I have been using it for almost 2 years now and the neuropathy is still driving me to distraction! :( Also, it is very expensive, even with the insurance, as for some reason, most insurance companies don't want to pay for it.

I have neuropathy in my feet and especially at night when I went to bed it used to be very painful. A doctor friend told me to stop drinking milk which I did and by the next day the neuropathy was no longer as painful and bed time was no longer a time I dreaded because of neuropathy pain. I have found that I need to avoid other products that contain milk also like ice cream and yogurt. I take a calcium supplement now that I am not drinking milk. I don't know if this will work for everyone but I thought I would mention this in case others want to give it a try.

HI
I love milk and I never thought of that just thought it was part of diabetis and it was sugar causing it. My sister doesn't drink as much of milk as i do and she has it. We both seem to go throught the same things. She has had it longer but we both had the ant crawling all over our feet feeling and the electrical goings on in our legs and they both stopped about the same time. Weird. Now it's just the feet thing and I have problems with my legs I think from several things, sciatic nerve and scar tissure from knee surgery. I think after the second knee surgery is close to when I found out I was diabetic and then I started having the leg problems.
I will try and cut down on the milk. I can't take that medicine cause I don't have insurance and it doesn't come in generic. Thanks!

I can attest to the one for legs and feet. I also heard of other places such as the stomach. It is something we need to avoid if at all possible. I am trying toundo or stop the problems with my feet as we speak.

If you find that medication I want some. I have had it in varying degrees since 1981.They did all kinds of testing on me to make sure what it was.

Hi just4us3… I was diagnosed with neuropathy 2 months ago..my endo prescribed Gabapentin for me and it works!!! I have the sensation that my legs are badly sunburned and achy…I take a 300mg pill 3x a day. Ask your doctor about it. I truly don't know how you have dealt with it for all these years.. God Bless and I hope you can find relief soon!
