I'm posting this for anyone to rant or reminisce. Hope it takes off and gives us all some fun!!!

You know you're a long-time diabetic when,

You remember having to get your syringe needle sharpened with a file!

Testing your urine with a test strip instead of a test tube was a huge advance!

Checking blood sugars with your new, one-pound, 5"x9" glucometer was a family event.

You could use your scar tissue lumps to point out directions on a map.

You know when you are a long time diabetic when you used a glass syringe…

I wish we'd saved my old glass syringe in it's glass bottle. I think Mom tossed in in a fit of sizing-down. She's the one who had to deal with it, can't blame her!

LOL!!! I love this rendition, it reminds me of Jeff Foxworthy and his redneck jokes. He's a fav. comedian of mine and my husbands. Here is mine: You know when you are a long time diabetic when the doctor starts asking you how to's.

Ha! That's another good one! Or how about, You know you've been diabetic a long time when you've been diabetic longer than your doctor's been alive? :-)
