I found this link on the internet when doing a search for sugar free fig newtons. I have no clue what half of the ingredients are but thought I would share this recipe link in the hopes that someone can interpret it. I would think some of these ingredients may be better known as eye of newt or bat wings.

Here are some clues to your "Grown Up Fig Cookies"

I know you know what port is...right? That is the part that makes them "grown up"

Sorghum flour is glutten free and similar to wheat flour. "In North America, it is an expensive, specialty flour. To get it cheaper, try looking in ethnic stores such as Indian, where it might be called jowar or juwar."

After reading about xantham gum, I am not sure I would want to eat it! It is a bacteria and slime and black rot on your broccoli!!!

Figs are great though and a great source of nutrients. They are also very high in carbs, so just be careful how many you eat. So when are you making some? I'll be over.

OOOPS… I wanted this as a reply to "where the wild things are" rather than as a new discussion. It's 2:30 in the morning. Please seebettymachete's informative discussion on figs.
