How are you even functioning without injecting yourself for one week . I am a type I diabetic since the age of 8 years old. I have been dealing with this for 44 years. You need to get some help and fast . You are heading for ketoacidosis if you are not there already . Go to your local emergency room for help . Sheila

It's still very important to use insulin, because her body isn't producing any. I can't stand the tiredness, thirst and just crappy feeling that high reading cause. It also affects your though process, so good decisions are tougher to make. Definately need to work with a good Doctor, who is willing to work with your individual circumstances. We aren't machines, so what works for one won't necessarily work for someone else. Teen years were very difficult for me because your body is going through so many changes, its normal for the readings to fluctuate a lot. Thats why a good Dr. is so important, because you need to understand how your body responds to the changes. I'm well over 40 and still have premenstrual highs. I've had to adjust. Problem is, if you aren't regular, you are going to have some occasional problems. Good luck in finding someone who is knowlegable

Just going in for help sometimes is easier said than done. I someone is in denial, things have to get pretty bad before they even think something is wrong. I agree that Nicole needs to get some help both physically and probably psychologically to learn how to handle some of her issues. I am doing that myself right now. I don't think Nicole needs someone to tell her what she should do…she probably already knows that. Sometimes when someone is told what to do, it seems like they are being scolded and then they feel worse about themselves and then they become defiant and don't do anything at all. I just want to know that by being on this site, help will be offered, support will be given, and passing judgement will be avoided.
