We have all been there. I remember one Thanksgiving several years ago that I was tired of always having to watch what I ate. I decided it was a holiday and I was taking a holiday from diabetes. I started with 2 Boston creme donuts for breakfast and my diet did not get much better as the day progressed. Truth be told it felt good for a few minutes to not care, but I paid for that day for a week. It took a week before my blood sugars got back to stable levels.

Now when I feel that way I may treat myself to a small portion of something I normally would not eat. If possible, I try to make sure it is a healthier version than what I would have had in the past. When you are faced with these challenges it is a good time to stop and reflect on the consequences of your actions. I will usually get a big glass of ice water and sip it while I sit there talking myself out of what ever it is I am thinking about doing. If I can't talk myself out of it, I talk myself into a better choice.

I think we all do from time to time but feeling bad after and the high blood sugar just isnt what I like to do .
So I try to keep it to a min and she I like a treat from time to time .
Best wishes

I think I get tired from doing the wrong thing more then I do doing the right thing. The right thing is good for my health and well being, the wrong thing is bad for me and my future.

Hello there! I do have my moments when I do feel like and at times I do get tired of trying to do the right thing. I have to try to stop myself, think about a message I remind myself (I can do this..I will do this..believe in yourself. I'm not helping me or my family). When I do give up, which Ray is right we are only human, we get right back up and begin again where we left off and learn.

We're only human. I've always said, "lead me not into temptation… I can find it myself." In my life I find that I get more tired of doing the wrong things than the right things but I am also learning about the importance of balance. I can have this if I don't have that. I can have a little of this as long as I don't have a lot of it.

All the time, but my survival and happiness depends on it, I would like to hold my breath sometimes, but my body makes me exhale, LOL.

Being diabetic has it's challenges, but if I want to enjoy life with as few of the complications associated with diabetes, I must do the right thing by me.
