Usually, when someone finds out that they are daibetic, they become angry. they are angry at the world, but worst yet, themselves for letting this happen. why me is the big question? I must of really screwed up for this to happen to me.
At some point and time, one must become accepted to the fact that they are a diabetic. when one has let this happen, then they must have faith. Not faith in their doctor or their medicines. themselves.
When you go for a job interview, you have faith that you can do the job and do it well. when you go for a drivers liscence, you have faith you will pass the test. Diabetes is the same thing. You must have faith that you can be a healthy person. Be strong and have faith in yourself ,that you will eat better and do healthy things. You need to be strong and beleive in yourself. You are not a failure. Being a diabetic is not a death sentence. Its more of a call. and its a call you must want to answer. its a challange. A challange you must accept and want to take.
Please have faith in yourself. Walk the walk and do things for yourself that will make you a better person. Your are a strong person and one who can do this. you need to have faith in yourself that you will be healthy, and your numbers will come down. Beleive in yourself. have convictions. Dont be your worst enemy. Be your best friend.

DonnaAnn, I couldn't have said it better. I try not to focus on the disease, but on the great things I am finally doing for myself. People used to always tell me that I had to loose weight for myself. I had to be a leader for myself. I had to exercise for myeslf. I never understood it, but now I do. I will not be a diabetic victim. I am a conquerer! That doesn't mean I will win every battle, but I will win another day to live until my time is come. We are some of the most aware people of how our bodies work. We get to use that knowledge at every test, every meal, every waking moment. Blaze that trail for the ones to follow. Live like you mean it.
Thanks DonnaAnn for a great reminder.

Thanks for this reminder,
I agree with this quote 100%.
Personally I live by faith. I believe that all things are possible if you only believe and keep the faith. This has kept me grounded after the diabetes diagnosis. It is wonderful to see a reminder every once in a while that there are others who share your beliefs. This site is also proof of what can be accomplished by having faith in others.

trusting yourself and others who are in the same boat as you can get you thru the darkest times. Just because we are diabetics does not mean we can not eat, drink, and be merry.

Personally I live by faith. I believe that all things are possible if you only
believe and keep the faith. This has kept me grounded after the diabetes
diagnosis in December 2000. Not taking my insulin I was suppose to when I had had food posion…and didn't want to eat…so I thought not eating I din't need insulin so after not taking insulin for two weeks…I near about left this world Christmas Day 2004…I was left here for a reason…So It is wonderful to see a reminder every once in a while that there
are others who share your beliefs. This site is also proof of what can be
accomplished by having faith in others.
