See your Dr. ASAP. My husband had a disc herniation that caused nerve damage that included foot drop. My husband's surgeon was amazed he was able to walk both pre and post op. He still has foot drop and nerve damage but if it hadn't been treated he could have ended up with a severed spine. Nerve damage within the spine most likely will never improve. Nerve damage outside of the spine can heal very slowly, the nerves grow at a very slow rate. There can be many reasons for your symptons. Find a Dr.

Greg, I just read your blog. I also have foot drop do to a gunshot wound while I was a police officer. I was very athletic prior to the shooting. Did you have the amputation due to the wound or diabetes?
