I just lost my insurance. I am going to run out of test strips. Does anyone know a program that supplies test strips for free? I am already getting my drugs that I need , but the test strips are not included.

Hi, mjleys
Try looking on the Interent for "free diabetic test strips" and see what comes up. or call local hospitals and clinics and see if they can make a referral.
Also call the maker of your meter. They possibly can supply you with some while you're looking for a regular supply. It won't hurt to ask. Who's supplying your drugs? Maybe you can get a referral from them.

Since the program you would like to know about would be a local city, county, or state program I would suggest looking into local social service agencies (phone book, web search) or with an agency referral service such as your local United Way Agencies. It's worth a phone call.

check to see if there is a free health clinic in your area , you can also try talking to a diabetic educator as they often get supplies from vendors and will give them to people who cannot afford them when i was first diagnosed my educator gave me an extra meter ,150 strips and a vial of levimir to help me out , good luck love to all GREG
