It was just two short years ago this month that we officially launched Diabetic Connect.

It's been an amazing first two years! We are so grateful for you, the members of Diabetic Connect who make this such a great place. Together, we have helped literally tens of thousands of people with diabetes. We've helped each other. And we've become friends.

As your "birthday" gift to Diabetic Connect, we'd love to hear how this site has helped you. Please share your stories. Whether it's a story of being inspired by a friend, learning something new, renewing your commitment to your own health, or some other way, we'd love to know how the site has made a difference.

And don't worry—we'll serve something more diabetic-friendly than birthday cake and ice cream at the party :-)

I'm another newbee to this site and since joining I've been on every day. Back in the 70's when I was originally diagnosed with T1, there were no support groups or internet support for diabetics. My family and I went through a really rough time.

This site is a breath of fresh air.

I am so glad I found this site. As a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic, this site will make my life much easier.

Happy Birthday. Found the site just browsing around and now i'm addicted. Its part of my internet routine. Facebook and then Diabetic Connect. So much information for anybody that is diabetic and also good way to find out what others are doing that are in the similar situation that you might be in. Like the food recipe section.

Good Job on the website.

Question: Iphone app coming out soon? would be nice.

Thanks for the nice granular feedback. We are glad you are here.

Answer: Yes. Will you be an early pre launch tester?

Sincerely, Stead

Wow, doesn't seem that long. I've picked up a lot of things over those years. Things people post that are interesting, questions that I don't know the answer to and comments that lead me to look things up in more detail.

John, I had not paid any attention to the age of the site. I assumed it was 3 0r 4 years old because it is very well established and has so many members. I have noticed that many members stick with us and do not depart so quickly, if at all. On most D sites there is not a very solid core of regular members. They join and then leave once their questions are answered. There are many regulars here who stay and contribute to the site. That is a good sign that this is one of the very best D sites available.

I have to say that this site is the best birthday present anyone could wish for. I cannot believe that we have turned 2!

I know that this community of friends helped me though so many hard and good times. I can share my joys here and my struggles and never feel bad about either. When I was on my own without a doctor's care, everyone here helped me reach some goals in self treatment that I would have never been able to do with out your encouragement and even some nudges to be more careful.

I owe my success to being with you all every day. I never tire of what we share and always learn new things. You guys make me think outside the box and it has encouraged me beyond words.

Thank you John for giving birth to the idea of a social site of this quality. So many people visit other sites, but many say that what we have here is different. It is, it is special.

So get out those pointy hats and blow those goofy party favors. We have a lot to celebrate!

Happy Birthday! *tosses streamers and confetti* Don't worry, they are virtual, they will clean themselves up *grins*

I also just joined the other day. You and your staff have done a tremendous job of providing a community and information we need to help us on our unique paths.

I love how everyone has responded to my questions, rants, and endless explanations in the most supportive and caring way. I hope someday to "pay it forward" to another newly diagnosed member (then again, I hope there are not any more! Yes, I can dream!).

I'm not an overly religious person but I think God was surfing google for me the day I found the web link to this site and it wasn't all that long ago. I am a newbie both here to DC and to the disease we share. This is a community, not a web site. I have "not met" some of the nicest people that I am proud to have on my "friends" list. John, this site is awesome!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
