I'm a coffee drinker too, i have 4 esspresso daily with stevia, but for me the coffee increases my bs.(I'm type 1) There are several studies out there, and they say that the coffee makes the bs higher. But everyone is different, and if this works for you, it's great, we all have to figure out what works for us induvidually.

I think that sums it up very well. There are studies that show it lowers blood sugar, studies that show it raises it and studies that show it does nothing. For me, temporarily stopping all caffeine generally lowered my blood sugar for a while but it didn't last, starting drinking a small amount of coffee generally lowered it for a short time, both times the general reduction was lost after a week or so and my numbers were back to where they were.

I heard green tea is good for you. I drink coffee by the potfuls sometimes. As far as eating goes I only have soft foods because of another condition.

Drinking coffee may lower blood sugar but I think it may raise your blood pressure and cause insomnia. My problem is emotional eating of wrong foods. I get depressed when all the foods I want are not in the house. I have no will power.
