I had heard of Brett Michaels before, but didn't have real recolonization of him. In watching the Celebrity Apprentice Show, I learned about the man behind the name, and was rooting for him first, and Holly a close second. I was really happy that Snapple gave donations to both charities, so it really was a win-win for both Brett and Holly. When I heard about Brett's brain bleed, I began to follow the health stories more. He is one incredible man, and a hero for diabetes. I wish him well in his latest medical challenges. Richard, thank you for mentioning this great man in our family forum.

I never cared for his music (please don't shoot me) But after reading that article I do admire all he stands for. That is incredible and just shows us how much we CAN do. He never used his diabetes as an excuse and neither should we. He is a shining example of triumph that we all can appreciate.

Wow! That was a amazing story he told. It really changes that "bad boy" image he had set up about himself. He is a very strong man and he will continue to do great things. I love the work is also trying to do for The American Diabetes Association. I do believe he also is on facebook.

Great article, I was suprised to see him show up on American Idol, but it was great to see him singing "Every Rose has it's thorn"

Here here there! I was hoping he was going to pull through. The song he sang on Idol was one of my favorites by him. I grew up listening to him (with my dad).

I spent my teenage and early twentys listening to him (I'm showing my age) and still break out an old Poison cd every now and then.

My dad used to wake me up to Poison and other groups too. I was just about 4 years old or so when I started listening to him. My dad was surprised and amazed when I told him about Brett. Made my dad really stop and think. After his two near death brain tumors he had and now his type 2 diabetes. I don't feel so odd about liking him and still listening to his music

LOVE POISON! my daughter took me took me to their concert last summer for my bday! It was great! I also grew up with Poison, still love them, and Brett on his own, too! He's been making alot of media coverage lately with diabetes, and his hospitalization recently. I'm so glad he's ok, and yes, proud to see him standing up and showing everyone it's ok, diabetes can't keep us down!!

I saw Poison in concert 5 times in the 80's and once more about 6 years ago. Still have all their albums but the newest one "Poison'd" I love all those 80's bands, Def Leppard, Cinderella, BonJovi etc… Bret is a great high profile person for diabetes.
