Hi. I haven't been here in a while. I have alot going on. Health wise that is. So far, my diabetes has been well controlled my doctor says. I am just so frustrated with food. I also have ibs and gastroparesis. And on top of that I am fructose intollorant. And practically every food in the world has fructose. Lovely. Does anyone else have these conditions? I would love to talk to someone about it. Lately I have been nervous. I have to have sinus surgery soon and the doctor says they have to give me predisone to shrink the sinuses and it will make the diabetes worse. This scares me. I see my doctor this wednesday, so I can talk to her about it. I have to travel over an hour away for surgery, and that makes me nervous to with my digestive problems. Thanks for listening.

Yeah, you do have alot going on, but don't give up. I had to take predisone once for my sinuses, and it didn't bother my blood sugar readings that much, the highest mine got was 150. I also have IBS, so I can understand about the travel part of it,ask your doc for Benytle, I am not sure if I spelled that right or not, but it will help with stopping the runs, if that is a problem for you . It does wonders for me, when I go a long distance.

Thanks for your advice. I have to take questran to control the diarreah every day. It is such a pain. I am worried about surgery day. I know you aren't suppose to drink coffee but I have to so I can have a bowel movement. If I don't, I am in pain. So if I can't have any coffee that day, I will probably be in pain till I can get back home. I am not sure what will happen. I hate all these conditions. SOme times I just want to give up. But I know I can't. I have a son. I have had bentyl before and it didn't do anything. I have taken predisone before for sinus infections and it didn't do much harm to the diabetes. So maybe I will be ok. Thanks it made me feel better. Take care.

Iam glad that I made you feel better. I understand about the coffee, I need it too. I like you have alot of conditions to deal with . I want to give up sometimes, but I just get busy doing something and it goes away, and I pray alot. The Bentyl works for me, but we all have different chemistry in our bodies. I hope that your surgery goes well. I am here when you need me.

Welcome / Welcome Back! Yup, it sounds like you do have a lot of fears and frustrations going on. When you see the doctor, you may wish to ask about a tranquilizer to help with the nervousness. Make sure to bring a friend who can help boost you up for your surgery. Negative friends are worse for you than High Fructose Corn Syrup. Bring a list with you for the appointment to cover your questions about blood sugar, diet, medications and side effects, and whatever is on your mind. Start the list now! I don't have answers because I am neither a doctor nor do I play one on TV. If you need to chat, drop me a line. Arm yourself with information and with a support system that gives you what you need. Now, deep breath!!!

Hi Ray
My son is going with me to have sugery. It is over an hours drive and they won't let me drive back so he is going to. He will be 17 soon (I still can't believe it!) so he will help me through it. I have had this surgery 5 times already so I know what to expect. I don't want to take any more pills really. I am on too many as it is. I do take pain medication and antidepressents everyday so maybe that will help. I did plan on taking a list. So I dont forget anything! The bad thing is, I don't have a support system where I am. My family is sick of hearing about all my health problems and so are my friends. I guess they don't understand. That is why I turn to online friends. They understand more. Plus, I don't go anywhere because of my pain, so it is better for me. Thank goodness for the internet!! Thanks so much for the advice!
