Anybody had trouble with leg cramps in the middle of the night & only one foot swelling?
I drink tons of water during the day so I know I'm not dehydrated but these leg cramps are a real pain in the leg during the middle of the night.
Any suggestions?

Water pill an staton drugs will cause your night to be hell. I know for i have to taken them, I dropped the staton drug because of the side affects but the water pill I have to take to keep the water out of the legs, these drugs take the potassium out of your system an makes for hard cramps in the night. I have to take 10mg a day to keep the cramps gone. Try eating a few banana`s before bed time an see if that doesnt stop your cramps an then see your Doc for the pills

I have leg cramps to. My blood sugars is doing great. Mines comes from me taking 2 hypertension meds twice a day and not drinking enough water. Maybe you need to see your doctor to check on your potassium levels

If your blood sugars are were they should be, then you might have restless leg syndrome. That causes my legs to cramp and to twitch like crazy some times. It only flares up every now and again, thank you God. About the one foot swelling, have you ever hurt that foot or ankle ? Could be from that.

I had leg cramps real bad at night before I was diagnosed (3 weeks ago). That was one of the symptoms that sent me to the Dr. in the first place. I also was drinking water like crazy and knew I was not dehydrated. A few days after starting on Metformin and cutting back the carbs and sugar especially Dr. Pepper (my biggest weakness) the leg cramps went away and I have not had one in 2.5 weeks now. Are your blood glucose numbers where they should be?

Thomas, I love Dr. Pepper too! And the diet ones just suck!! So I just do without most of the time. I did have one a couple of months ago, yum, and it didn't raise my sugar that much. But I still will not drink much of it. So boo hoo to us!!

LOL! Boo Hoo for sure! I have found a off brand from Food Lion called Diet Dr. Perky made with Splenda, it's ok and helps curb the urge a little but there’s nothing like Dr. Pepper! Since I have been testing I can see how my A1C was 13.2 because I ate a lot of bread and drank around 4 Dr. Peppers a day, both of which I can now see shot my numbers way up, so I’m laying off of it but that is the hardest thing!

I haven't tried the Diet Dr. Perky, I like the name. You are right there is nothing like Dr. Pepper.I have found that was one of the hardest things for me to do , to tell the Dr, to take a hike!! And chocolate too. But sugar free chocolate puddings and stuff aren't so bad, in fact I like them.
