I have been diagnosed with peripheral Neuropothy. That means that the nerves are being effected by diabetes. I causes my legs to hurt (ache) at night and I can nnot walk well. I can walk about two blocks and nthen I must rest for a short while. Then more walking. I was tested to check the nerves in my legs with an electrical charege ( loow dosage) to see how fast the nerves react. The test showed that my nreves were firing much slower than they should. Hense, peripheral neuropothy. I also feel this same thing in both of my hands. All caused by Diabetes.

I am very sorry, but I do understand. see if I walk to long them that is where my legs will give me pain. so all I do is take pain killers to help and stop walking for awhile till the pain is gone then I will try it again but there are time to where it take longer, si I do understand.
but when I sak my Dr he told me that it was a lack of salt . so I don't know it is.
so I do wish you all the best and take care.

It might be nerve damage. Let me ask you something. Does the pain in your legs get worse when you walk? If so, ask your doctor about checking you out for P.A.D. (peripheral artery disease). It's the type of thing that can run in one's family. It certainly can't hurt to have the test from a "preventative" point of view.

Hi Anna,
This is sounding like some nerve damage. How are your levels running? The smaller capillaries of our circulatory system are most vulnerable to high glucose levels and the nerves and small vessels are easily damaged.

Here are some videos to watch that can help you see if this is what might be going on.

Eye trouble could be retinopathy: http://www.diabeticconnect.com/videos?query=eye

Extremity numbness or coldness could be neuropathy: http://www.diabeticconnect.com/videos?query=neuropathy

Kidneys are also very susceptible to renal failure: http://www.diabeticconnect.com/videos?query=kidney

I only share these all because your symptoms seem to all have come at one time and that is of concern. I would go and talk to your doctor about this. There are some lab tests he can do to help find out what is going on.

thank you .
but I had my A1c test done and other Blood work done , so I will see the Dr wednesday mornning and I will talking to him then. as for my BS numbers well they where running high but .then they where running low like in the 40s I did go to the hosptial on May 1st ans stayed the night. while I was in there they took one Of my Sugar Meds away and left me on the insulin. 1x a day. so at this point I don't know if that is what caused it but I will talk to my Dr about this and see what he say. I hope that it is not to late to where I don't have this all the time. do to this can be very painfull.
I did forget to say that there are time where my feet feel like they have a charlie horse in them to when you move your toes or your feet.
But I do thak you I will check out those sitre and see if that will help me get some answer on this and if I have question I can ask the Dr.
so a gain thank you lol

Well, with those kinds of lows you are right. I would talk to the doctor because it just sounds so rough. So much to happen all at once is scary. My feet drive me crazy with neuropathy and at times I would just like to detach them and leave them in a shoe box. I could not imagine having that kind of pain in my hands, arms and eyes. Please let us know what you find out. I am very curious. I hope you are able to find relief for it.

Good to hear and your A1c is great! That is a fantastic drop! I don't get the salt thing. Did he explain that at all?
