how significant is this reading compared to
Pre-Diabetic?

Boy I wish I could get mine that low See my is 7.9 and I need to get mine down to 6 or 6.5 so I am woring very hard to do but I hope that I will have good new on Wednesday. And I have T2 and had it for 3yrs.

Great job! Keep on keeping on! We're all proud of you here. As to your question, I assume you mean for a person who does not have full-blown diabetes yet? Everybody's different. But 5.8 is great so I wouldn't even think about comparing it.

Having anything below a 7 is great for a diabetic. A 5.8 is really good, as long as you are not going low a lot. This means that you are having good control. You should be very proud.
