Hi everone I am new here, I have had type 2 for about 10 years. I also have the feeling of the swollen feet, and also the sharp shooting pains ever once in a while. always trying to find that cold spot on the sheets at nite to try and get the feet to stop the burning.
also on the subject of diet sodas I use to drink the large 44oz maybe 2-3 times aday, I was having alot of bladder infection, and some one ask if I drank soda's I said all the time. they said that is why I was having trouble with the bladder infections so I Stopped cold turkey. have not had any more infections since. also I had a Dr tell me diet soda's is not good for weight loss diets. I also like reading others idea on type 2.

There is a lot of bad stuff in diet soda. Never touch the stuff. I now only drink water and coffee. Of course they say that coffee can raise your bs. But I have to have something!!! I have the same problem with my feet. It's from neurothophy from the diabetis. I take pills for it. they help some what.

Hi, Peppermint Patty. Welcome to DC! Glad to know you.
I had to laugh when I read your screen name. She's one of my favorite Peanuts characters. Also Sally who I absolutely adore.
But back to the question in hand. Sometimes our diabetic meds have side effects that can play tricks with our bodies. I myself have had that feeling about looking for the cold spot on the sheets. And, sometimes, I just sleep with my feet completely outside of the covers and have a fan blowing air on them all night.
It's interesting when you say that one should not be drinking diet sodas when trying to lose weight. I hadn't heard of that before. Of course, I only have diet soda maybe once every 2 weeks or so. So, it's not something that really affects me insofar as my weight loss question is concerned.
I'm sure glad your bladder infections have cleared up. They are brutal and, believe me, I've had my share of them.
