I'm new to this site..but already like what I see! I already found so much information, feel comfortable with the fact that I am not alone. There seems to be so many people here trying to help one another…this diabetes and scarey..but doesn't have to be.

You found the right place to find people who can relate to what you are going through. I am going into week 8 since diagnosis and it can be very overwhelming at times. It does get better the more informed you become. Read, research and ask. Those are what have gotten me through the past two months. And also know that all of us who have responded will help in any way we can. Add us as friends and ask us questions - we will be there… Best of luck, Cindy

Hello, I think most people feel some fear when first learning of having diabetis. I was scared and didn't know what to do. My doctor on told me to test my blood sugar 4 times a day. Wlhat I have learned I learned here on DC. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask. Someone will be more than happy to answer. I wish you the best as you start your new life.

Your friend

If you want to talk in private, just click on the photo to the left and drop me a note. We are all here to help out and you will find all kinds of support here.

Even though I knew I had diabetes when I went to the doctor, the visit was still traumatic and I felt helpless. I cried the whole way home and then I came here right away. I always find solace here. Everyone cares and it gave me great comfort.

I was the same way when I was diagnosed, all I could do is cry. So I understand. I am here for you whenever you need me. Hang in there it does get better.

I felt the same way when I was diagnosed. It's been 11 months now. I'm learning to live with it, but still have struggles of my own. I'd be glad to answer any questions I can. What is your average blood sugar? Are you on oral meds or insulin?
