Has anyone heard about this? I just heard someone talking about it. If that is case why get a pump and why take insulin if there is a cure.

Why as none of my doctors heard about this? Could this be true! IDK?

What have you heard? if any.

Thanks

Thank you to everyone whom replied on this topic. I heard about it and so did some of my family members and they swear it is a cure, I just laughed and said go get some diabetes education classes under your belt and stop trying to fix my disease. I am a diabetic! they dislike it when I say I am a diabetic.

All I can say is that if it was a true cure, everyone would be taking it and being cured. The fact that diabetes is growing instead of decreasing, I would says that diabetes is here for a little while longer.

Even though there is no "cure" for diabetes, if you change your lifestyle in the right ways you can eventually manage your levels without insulin, or medications. I am not there yet. I am still taking metformin, but I am working with a nutritionist (who happens to be my boss) who has helped many people learn to manage naturally.

I totally agree. I'm working towards that goal myself. I hate taking any kind of medicine because I can't help but think of the list of side effects! With me, exercise helps greatly, too. I've learned you don't need a gym membership or anything high powered to exercise. Just put some good sneakers on your feet, turn the doorknob, and walk. AND it's fun.

I don't believe "a pill" can cure anything. However, I do believe many diseases can be cured over time, not with medication (so to say) but naturally. But then again, not with one herb, vitamin, or what ever, I believe it would have to be a change in lifestyle. Our bodies are made to heal itself, if it has the right things to use.

Today, there is no cure for type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

There are some very exciting clinical trials going on. One is trying to prove that for newly diagnosed type 1 diabetics they can preserve some of their natural ability to produce insulin. This could be a HUGE step forward. (Sadly, it comes 9 years too late for my son. But for newly diagnosed going forward, this could be a revolutionary breakthrough.)

For some type 2 diabetics, gastric bypass surgery has been close to a cure. But it's very invasive and the results don't always last. But still for some, the results have been almost miraculous.

Someday, I believe this disease will be cured. But if someone tries to sell you a pill today that they say will "cure" your diabetes, look out. It's snake oil and your money will be gone but you'll still have diabetes.

Be cautious of the medical reps on here with no pictures, they will sell you another glucose monitor way before they talk to you about the cure. I posted a blog about, has anyone cured themselves and the minute I posted it 2 green no picture people started with nonsense reply's. Take a look at the comment if you get a chance it would be nice to hear from a real person.
