I'm excited… my first issue of "Diabetic Living" magazine arrived in my mailbox today. It's the Spring 2010 issue. I had been getting back issues of this Better Homes & Gardens special interest publication from my local library but found a year subscription (4 issues) for $9.95 where it's usually $19.95.

The highlighted articles on the cover include:

*Enjoy chocolate desserts all 30 g carb or less
*Dietitian reveals 14 best butters and margarines
* 20 fast fix grocery foods
* 8 filling egg dishes
* Sleep apnea: solutions for sleeping better tonight

There are around 45-50 recipes in this issue's food index. The chocolate ravioli and chocolate-peanut butter molton cupcakes sure got my attention (great photos!). The fitness section features an article "around-the-house moves" and photographs an attractive plus sized model demonstrating effective exercises with canned goods, a phone book, and a towel. There's also an article called, "Finding Fiber" which reviews carb smart and high fiber food options.

The article, "Surgical Solutions" by Hope S Warshar, R.D., CDE discusses weight loss surgery options and the research on diabetes and WLS.

In short, I believe that I have made a wise choice with this subscription. You may see if your library subscribes to check out this issue, back issues and the issues to come.

What are your favorite publications???

Great review. There are a lot of great magazines out there, but I do think that this is one of the best. Well, I suppose because I like Better Homes & Garden too.

Where did you find such a good deal like that? I love the magazine myself. There is another magazine I love too called Diabetic Forecast. Happy reading, I am hoping to get my permanent subscription soon. I have been waiting to try to find a deal for me. I love the recipes and very informative articles they have. My family has come to love some of the recipes I have made from there. Happy reading to you! :)

Great Question… at 51 years old I am lucky to remember what I had for breakfast. As I think about it, it may have been a special offer when I signed up for the diabeticlivingonline.com website access but I can't be sure. I did check my invoice confirmation (which I saved) and the email came straight from them so perhaps it was a popup offer but at that price, I grabbed it before either of us changed our minds!

I will go to their web site tonight and my other magazine and see what they are offering. Thank you for the info. :)
