I have been working on my diabetes with everyone's help here for about 5 months now. I have made great strides and am very pleased. I feel a rut coming on though and wondered what kinds of things does everyone use to break thru those ruts and keep moving?
Exercise, Diet, Tracking, Cooking, and so on. What do you do to keep it fresh?

I do things that aren't related to diabetes. It doesn't matter what it is just anything that has nothing to do with diabetes.

I try to move it up a bit. another words if my work out routine is gettin old, and I am only walking a mile, I go for a mile and a 1/2. if cooking is getting boring, I try to find different ethnic foods to eat. just the differnet taste in food is good. I never change my tracking. the chart i post is stapled to the bottom of my calender and is a good booster for me. I love to see where my numbers are in the morning!! sometimes switching your routine around helps. if you work out in the morning, then do it at night or in the afternoon. or take a day off and do something else, like Gabby said, get involved with helping others. Try a new hobby. hope this helps.

I agree 100% with Butterfly. You know my passion for my Tae Kwon Do, and my dogs, and of course my sons…(All I need is a good woman too)… LOL Find those things that make your life worth living, and doing those will help you thru any "slumps" you encounter along the way. John

Hi Gabby I do all the things you mentioned above, but then I fill in with things that do not pertain to diabetes,in othrt words I get on with the business of living. I belong to lots of orginizations and volunteer. I am a Reiki Master ,Crystal Therapist and I love Yoga. Those are some of my activities.Life is good and very busy. I never get bored.
