the first shot is really the worst… the mental games we play with ourselves are worse than the actual injection itself.

Since the new needles are so small and short…most times you won't even be sure you actually gave yourself a shot.

yumyum,
I can feel your fear and pain about this, it does seem like a big step, it's something new and naturally we feel scared. Once this appointment is over I am sure you will feel much better, "relieved."
Oh and yes, diets are hard to stay on, but keep up the fight and it will become easier in time, it is even more difficult when you worry so much. Try and relax, give yourself a break, your worth it.

I'll be praying for you.

Hello there Yumyum! Insulin is okay and there is nothing bad or wrong about being put on it. In all reality, insulin is the most natural thing and our body makes this. I faced my fears and negative thoughts and went for it 3 years this October. I went in the injections while I was waiting for my new insulin pump. I just got so sick and tired of either having a bad reaction or my body eventually rejecting the pills. I am very happy that I took the journey with insulin. If you are playing everything mostly by the book. Than maybe it is your body trying to tell you something. Try to hang in there though and keep fighting back.

Have you tried eating less carbon and/or using your glucose meter to see how your food choices affect your blood sugar?

Do you value your life and health more than you fear going on insulin ?
Do what you know is right and correct for yourself.
