My sugar will spike sometimes it seems like for no reason. I exercise, drink alot of water. I have been taking cinnamon capsules to help. Is there anything else that I can do when this happens? Very seldom does it go low. I am on Metforman 2/daily

When you spike you spike. You have to try and avoid it in the first place. I found that bread, pasta, oatmeal, French fries, potatoes, and most foods that have more than 5-6 net carbs per serving, will spike my blood sugar. I found foods like broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, pickles, salads, coleslaw, sauerkraut, cauliflower, and just about all low carb vegetables helped me keep my numbers down.

I was diagnosed with an A1C of 14.1 and by eating lots of low carb vegetables and cutting out most high carb foods my blood sugar dropped to normal levels in about 3-4 months.

I wrote how I control my blood sugar here Click on the link below.

I found that, finding people who have controlled their blood sugar and finding out how they did it and by trying some of the things they did has helped a lot.

Not everything will help, but a lot did. I learned that testing before and after each meal and keeping records of what I ate, I was able to cut out foods that spiked my blood sugar. When your blood sugar spikes it will be the bread, pasta and most starches high carb foods.

Good Luck

Can you explain a little more? How is it rising randomly?

I will start feeling sick. I check my sugar and it is at 190+. I had been working drinking my water. Not eating anything that should cause it to go up. I would like some ideas as to what I can do when it goes so high. Better?

What are you eating? How often are you eating? What's your blood sugar before you eat? Do you take mediation? Do you exercise at? How long after you eat do you start to feel sick?

I will start tracking what I had consumed before the spike. I usually start getting sick a couple of hours after eating. I work outside in my garage. I keep physically busy.
