When I finally came to terms with my diabetes. My push for me was a few different things and some loving wise words from my dad (who's now a type 2 diabetic). Along with the fact, I have been watching my mother over the years neglect her diabetes and where she is right now (which is not good). I want to be around to watch my kids grow. I very much would like to be a nurse and get into my clinicals. I didn't like what I was seeing in the mirror either. I was expecting my other half to tell me yes and no to what I was doing with my diabetes. I learned I needed to first do for myself and take responsibility for my actions & wrong doings with my diabetes. I am a big girl! When I feel like I want to give up or I am having a rough day with my diabetes. i reminder myself, "I WANT TO do this…I CAN do this… and I WILL do this". Hang in there and know the same thing. :)

You CAN,you WILL and you SHALL because YOU are your GREATEST inspiration, you KNOW that you can do this because YOU must !
Your responsibility and actions will prove to be inspirational to others in more ways than you can ever imagine !

Love. My motivation that really got me taking care of myself was the idea that if I was going to live a longer life than I thought than I better step up to the plate and start taking action before complications get worse. I love my "kids" too much not to take the best care of myself and be here for them. With all that you need to have love for yourself too!

Love starts with "self," before it can be extended to others, you have demonstrated that by wanting to be there for others in the future by taking responsibility for yourself and your diabetes first, a very wise choice indeed.
