I got diagnoised with diabetes in 2007, since that time I have been trying to do everthing I can to keep my weight under control because I want to get off the medications. But, when I'm stressed I eat sometimes it the wrong things or I'll over eat. What can I do to get back on track.

Distraction is your best friend. Like Danni said, find something else (hopefully productive) to do. I reach straight for carbs when I am stressed and the trick is to see it before it gets out of control. Then I remove myself from the stressful situation or distract myself from the stressful thoughts. I garden. It gives me peace and I enjoy pulling weeds when I am stressed. I can destroy something other than my diet plan. LOL!
Also, I cannot watch TV. I eat when I watch TV and I don't even realize it until I have done the damage. So I limit myself to watching 1 hour right before or after a meal. That helps me a lot. When I veg out infront of the tube, I pig out. Very bad for me.

Their are so many people who will eat when they are stressed or upset. The only thing you can do is substitute the eating for another activity. When I am really upset I will run, run til I am hurting and can't take another step.
Or, like Harlen said, stay stocked on the veggie's - finger veggies, I munch on celery, pickles, mushrooms and baby carrots.
I hope this helps!
Good luck and I hope you find something that works.
