I am interested in learning about experiences relating to medical reimbursement for diabetes patients. Are there any situations that repeatedly arise, are terribly frustrating, but are often solvable with a lot of rigor?

As Sy Syms used to say,

" An educated consumer is our best customer."

Do your research, know your rights, know your insurance company, ask questions (in written letters),
don't be afraid to inquire or to investigate, it's your right to know, the power of the pen carries more weight than that of a telephone call or email in certain cases.
Certified postal service mail works wonders once someone has to sign for it, questions get answered and results come rather quickly, so write and ask away !

I've been diabetic for many years and never run across any obstacles or problems related to diabetes. You will find problems from time to time, of course, with doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, insurance companies, etc., but those are just to be expected, unfortunately. My experience has been good, thanks to the fact that I've always had insurance. I'm sure there are some horror stories out there, especially from those with inadequate or no insurance.
