My experience was mostly when I ate low fiber foods such as low fiber 'white' bread which most simple call it, White this and white that, and I found I was starving, but when I started to eat high fiber Pasta, I wasn't hungry near as often. I know not all white things are harmful for you and so there are rice which has much more fiber and brings down my blood sugar. I sure hope your able to find your answer which helps you since I hate to be hungry and I drink more water in the summer and the rest of the year I have increased my water and this helps extend my food so I don't get hungry as often. I love the double fiber bread with peanut butter, I get it ONLY at the bread stores since I can't afford the high prices.

I personally don't think you are getting enough fat in your diet. Fat is filling. I know we have been led to believe that it is bad for us, but that is just more bad science. Incorporate a little more fat into you meals and see if that helps.

My two favorite oils are Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Canola and I am careful. A good source of fats are nuts and I love Cashews, Pistachios and unsalted dry roasted. I am not sure if this helps, but I wanted to share, nuts are something if I don't eat on a regular basis, I go way overboard when I do get them. I found out Diabetics need protein and when I eat nuts, it does bring down my blood sugar. Yummo for what?

You might want to reconsider your Canola oil. I stopped using it once I realized that it is not all it was cracked up to be. check out this site: http://www.hbci.com/~wenonah/new/canola.htm
There are a lot of studies on it right now as to whether it is healthy or not. Until they make up their mind, I am sticking with olive oil.

I knew about the media poo poo the Canola, and Thank-you for caring, but I don't let them let me do what they want to, if the FDA paid for my oils, I wouldn't mind and maybe they would like me to get the Gallon size of Fully Hydrolyzed oils. I am not going to the website since they have agenda and won't pay for my Olive Oil.

It's not a government site, but that's fine. We all have to make up our own minds, I just offer the info.

Do you mean ever since you were diagnosed?
I know for me sometimes when I know I should not or cannot eat something my brain goes crazy and focuses on what I can't have, making me want it more. What I do it try to keep the junk out first. Then I try to keep healthy snacks on board so that if I am raiding I have a better choice. Once I get thru the craving I can usually stop the raid on the frige.
The other thing that really, really helps me is being busy. Watching TV is the worst thing for me. I have a mindless eating habit when I watch TV. But if I am at my desk working on something or working in my garden or doing anything to get my focus off food, I do much better.
