Type 1 diagnosed in 1945. It is not so unusual to be type 1 for a very long time if you are diagnosed as a child. William Rounds has been type 1 for 86 years. He was vdiagnosed at 11 months old, the year insulin was first sold.

I was diagnosed in 1980. First I had type 2 now I have type 1, at least that's what I've learned since I've been posting on the site. Welcome to the community!

T2 since 95 and just now taking it seriously only after it caused Neuropathy in my legs and feet and contributed to me having CHF. Oh only if I could turn back time

I hear ya Rader, I have had it since 97 and just started taking it seriously early this year because of neuropathy…it's all fun and games till someone loses an eye - or lol a foot. Sorry, that's my diabetic humor coming out, I have to make jokes to stay calm.

Welcome to the community. Good to have you here. I was diagnosed officially about a year and a half ago. But my day when I diagnosed myself was Easter 2008.
