I was just at me endo and my A1C was up to 6.5 from ^.2 in April, he seemed OK with it but I wasn't. I thought it would be even lower as Ithought I was doing better at this, Obviously not. But the problem I'm asking about is the thyroid. He said my levels were "mildly abnormal" and he was going to keep an eye on it for now. I realize afterward that it could be up or down, which I didn't know at the time. Does anyone have any ideas how to get back to normal levels? I'm on too much stuff as it is and I realyy don't want to be on another lifetime medication. Thanks, Carol

As far as I know we cannot control our thyroid levels ourselves. I am on thyroid meds and was diagnosed with low thyroid 2 years before Type 2 Diabetes and they seem to go hand in hand. Also, with insomnia and depression.

I just saw a T V show about this. They said it is very common for type 2 diabetics to have some kind of thyroid problems. I am going to ask my Dr next time if he has checked my thyroid lately and what do i need to do.
