I know I've been MIA but all is well…super busy planning my sons FIRST birthday! Crazy he is almost 1 year old! Boy did that year fly by! lol. That and my husband has been underway sooo needless to say I have had a lot on my plate.

Anywho I am doing well. I am on the road to lap band surgery. I met my surgeon last week and he is awesome. He is really down to earth and I like his attitude. I have to go to some support group meetings, go to an exercise meeting, and have a psych exam (all mandatory). I also lost 10 pounds since my previous drs appointment in late february. I have been drinking a ton of water so I think that really helped. =) I am still having a hard time remembering to take my metforim but I have been doing a lot better than before. Like has been on the hectic side but I am slowly getting back into the swing of things.

Anywho, I'm having some trouble getting used to these new layouts, but, I'm in a week or so I will get used to it. Lol. don't be surprised if my postings are a little awkward.

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Thank you everyone! =) And I have no had the surgery yet, I just met with my surgeon to discuss everything. Unfortunately, he is a very busy guy and I probably wont get the actual surgery for another 3-4 months. But, that gives me plenty of time to work on myself while I'm waiting =)

And Ty for the Birthday wishes for my son… in 5 days (April 6) I will have a 1 year old! Crazy crazy how fast time flies!

Hi Kira and welcome back.

Congratulations on making it thru your first year as a mom. That is no small feat either. The first year is so amazing and you both learn so much. I hope it is a great day of celebration.

What a huge step you are taking and I am glad that you feel good about your doctors. That is such an important part of this huge undertaking. Do you keep up with your support and exercise groups after the surgery? They both sound like a good thing.
There is one question I would have you ask of your insurance company. Ask if they cover complications or reversals down the road. Years down the road. I had a friend whose insurance company covered the surgery, but not any issues later. Six years later she had a complication and they would not cover it. So for peace of mind, please ask them about this issue. You might feel you don't need to worry about it, but you might.
Other than that, let us know how it goes. I bet you will be saying good-bye to that pesky metformin before you know it.
