Hope this is okay: I thought it would be nice to have a place where we could boast about our triumphants big and small, no matter what it is!

For me on the 1st of august, I was actually able to do a stretching excercise and touch the ground!

Well, I have been walking a mile when I can, and there is a slight incline in my walk. From my car, it seems like a mole hill, but when I walk it, that mole hill becomes Mount Killame! finally, it has gotten so much easier to do! and I am down one more pound!

Hi Guys,

I'm happy to see all the acomplishments that each of you have made. And the feeling of being triumphant is a great one that we all can have in our own individual achievements and I know that when I found that I had trimmed down 5 inches on my waiste, 4 inches from my hips and my clothes are now to big I felt it was all worth the pain that I felt each in the beginning of my new life style change and each day that I continue to go out on the road walking for my health.

So keep up the good work guys and we all will continue to encourage one another to our very best and push for more on the journey to better health.

Take care … Hugs and Kisses

Charish

I just calculated my average fasting BG testing for the last 3 months. I started using vinegar 3 times a day about 6 wks ago. My average for the last 6 wks has dropped from 123 to a low of 102. Now for my next goal of average 95. Before my fasting numbers were all over the scale, I swear (or should I say affirm LOL)it's the vinegar. Now I can think about reducing the Actos so perhaps I can lose some pounds…well really a lot of pounds ROFLOL

Elfin,
Just curious, what kind of vinegar are you using? I use basalmic and the white, but I hear that the cider vinegar and red wine vinegar is supposed to be better.

John, I've used white, cider and red wine vinegars.I suspect that it's the ascetic acid that is present in most vinegars. I guess I could try to document the effects of different varieties. I am just so elated that something so simple has had such an impact on my BG. It sure has given me more impetus to track BG readings and see the trends and whether I am close to meeting goals.

Lee, I'm glad it is working so well for you. I make my own salad dressings so that I know they are lo cal. I try to eat fresh garden salads for about 4 of my 5 or 6 daily meals, so I'm probably getting enough vinegar already. I was just wondering which you used and I would switch if it made a difference…LOl Thanks for the reply!!!

Wow! That is an improvement worth bragging about. Keep it up!!!!!
Personally, I really enjoyed Tai Chi…great exercise and it surely improved my balance and strength. I surely wish I could find another Tai Chi instructor.;,( It is the best of meditative exercises. Even though I have tapes and books, nothing beats a "live" instructor. :-) My previous instructor was so beautiful to watch, even though he was a he, his movements were neither feminine or masculine, just wonderfully graceful, smooth and controlled. We often asked him to show us the entire first form just to enjoy his skill. Even for a heavy weight like me, Tai Chi is great exercise and yeah at first your legs do get tired, because all the movements are slow and balanced. We worked on one movement until we really had it down before moving onto the next…that's why a live expert helps so much. So if you can find a class, you'll enjoy it more. Of course you also need some cardio exercise too.
