My busy schedule does not allow me to get out and walk as much as I like. I am wondering if riding a stationery bicycle is roughly equivalent to walking?

In a word, yes, each has it's pros and cons but the result is still the same, getting that much needed exercise as a diabetic !

I am getting more and more away from TV and listening to pod casts is a great way to keep informed, but not be tied to the couch. I have a lot of radio shows that I listen to.

I agree with you on the podcasts, I download many different ones to listen to when I'm working, working out or just relaxing, you can find podcasts on any subject any interest, so whether I'm listening to music or informative podcasts downloaded from itunes, keeping fit and keeping informed is the way to go.

Thanks for bringing this to the attention of everyone.

you know i allways wanted one but i don't know how to download on the ipod. i have a question which one is better the ipod or mp3 player both would be good to listen to will i walk. i still use my caset player shows how much i know about new gadgets.

I have used many types of mp3 players as well as different models of Apples ipod over the years (I am an electronics\ technology freak), and it's all about personal preference and ease of use and features, Apple's ipods are my choice as is Apples itunes music management software which organizes and manages your music well and allows the downloading of podcasts and your music effortlessly :

Smaller, lighter, more storage capacity than a cassette player and with clear, hiss free digital sound.

I hope that this information has been helpful.

I own a Zune (Microsoft) and prefer the software over the itunes that I used to use. Picked up a 30gb zune on ebay for 150 bucks…money well spent…music motivates me to walk every day
