Please use this as a place to report your feedback about the new changes on Diabetic Connect.

We know there will likely be a few "kinks" to work through. Let us know what you're seeing and if you're experiencing any difficulties with the features.

Howdy John
I really like the improvements in the site since this new site was first launched.

But I noticed something with my replies in the email portion.

I replied to a couple of emails tonight and I know I had made paragraphs in my replies. But when I clicked the "reply to all " button the paragraphing I had put in got undone. It just became a big block of text, which I find hard to read, and I suspect everyone else does too.

It is not a big thing, but I would like it if I when I make a paragraph to enable my reply to be more readable I would like those paragraphs to remain.

I hope my paragraphe stay in this reply too.

great- they did stay!

Hi John

I find that at times I can't find a discussion I have been following. When I go to my tracked items, there are things I never looked at or posted showing, but not what I was following. There may be 6 new posts on something I was tracking, but when I make my first response, I don't see the highlighting anymore, so miss some things I am still wanting to follow.

Thanks, John.

I am frustrated too about Tracked Items. I'm working with the tech team to get that feature straightened out.

Thank you for your feedback.

John Thank you for changing the way the Discussions are reading now. I didn't know you got them changed that fast and well I thought I was reading the newest posts and was going back wards. LOL
This makes it so much faster to get to the new ones and reply to all I want. Thanks again.

John, for some reason I can't get rid of the 4 things I'm supposed to be tracking, even though I have looked at everything at least 2 times. Is this just me???

John Crowley 2010-03-29 16:54:47 -0500 Report

Hmmmm. My Tracked Items are working. So I'm having a hard time seeing exactly what you are seeing.

Just so that I make sure I understand. Are you clicking on items in your Tracked Items and they still show highlighted like there's something new there?

Jeannie Holmes
Jeannie Holmes 2010-03-29 17:09:37 -0500 Report

They aren't highlighted, there is a # that is by my profile that tells me how many replys there are for the tracked items. I can't seem to get rid of them even when I go into every discussion. Does that make better sense?

OK, we've had some issues with those counts. I'll have the tech team take a look at why it won't clear.

Thanks for letting us know.

dietcherry 2010-03-30 14:35:12 -0500 Report

I'm having the same problem, John, and I have clicked on every new reply in my tracked items, yet it still reads 4 new ones. Also, I see an edit tool under other members posts sometimes. I've tried to edit them but it won't let me! LOL Just kidding, but yeah, it does show up sometimes. Thanks, Renee :)

Just earlier today, we discovered that bug that was showing the edit option at the wrong times. Yikes! We will have that fixed very soon.

We're trying to get the tracked item count sorted out. It looks like it should be pretty simple. Hopefully, you'll see that cleared up soon.

Hey! What happened to all my points?? I had way more than it is showing now! I was on the third set of stars on the last website…Are they gone forever?
Sal :(

John Crowley 2010-03-29 16:51:54 -0500 Report

Your points should have carried over exactly. I will have our tech team double check that.

As for the stars, we had received feedback from many members that the stars seemed very awkward—as if actual people were "rated." And many found the way you'd get all your stars and then change color and go back to one star confusing. So we looked at it and decided it seemed to be doing more harm than good.

I noticed that in the news articles I tried to give a article a 5 star rating, and the stars are still blank. I see in this thread the stars should be red. A little problem, but thought you should be made aware.

I am STARTING get used to navigating in the new setup.

I don't know if someone inside DC held off the changeover of the website until after Danni came through her surgery, but if you did THANK YOU VERY MUCH for postponing the changeover. We who are regulars on DC would have been FRUSTRATED BIG TIME (putting it mildly) had the site not been available during her surgery. THANK YOU!

John, I had problems getting to this discussion. I received the following
message " 502 bad gateway." I have no idea what that means. After several attempts I am now where I want to be. The background is to bright for me.
I also want to be able to edit anything I write. I hope the track feature will
be restored as it was before. I follow certain discussions and not others.
I don't go by who is writing or replying but by topic.

toldroyd 2010-03-17 22:01:02 -0500 Report

We're still ironing out some issues on the technical side and hopefully should have things really stable in the next day or two. So you may see some strange occasional pages like this one. We'll do our best our to minimize this as much as possible. We're listening to the community and have plans in the near term to implement a lot of these requests.

dietcherry 2010-03-17 20:40:36 -0500 Report

John, could we have the new posts highlighted again? It is distracting that we now have to search for all new posts under a discussion. Thanks! :)

donna13 2010-03-17 21:31:26 -0500 Report

I miss that feature, too. I'm gradually getting around the new site, but can't say that I'm thrilled with it.

salmanda 2010-03-19 06:14:57 -0500 Report

I agree! I miss not finding then newest replies especially since they are not always where the most recent ones are. People reply to others replies and they are in the middle somewhere. I used to be able to speed scroll down through and see the newest by color and stop. I don't have time to read every discussion looking for new replies that may be valuable to me.
Thanks! :)

Jeannie Holmes 2010-03-19 09:31:35 -0500 Report

I totally agree. A lot of time I'm in a hurry and don't have time to look at every discussion. Also, it would be great if we had spell check on here. At least the option would be nice.

salmanda 2010-03-17 20:33:06 -0500 Report

I think there are some nice changes. I agree with the page being too bright and no editing feature, but you are already aware and changing those.
I do not like the privacy setting options anymore. It seems like before we had more options as to what was viewable and not. The way it is now, it is all or nothing. (Ex. Before I could show my first name only, but now I can't…it is whole name or nothing. It is the same way for other parts of the profile, too. ) For those of us who want some privacy but not complete privacy, we are out of luck. I really liked being able to decide on each part of my profile what I wanted seen. (first name, last name, age, where I live, etc. were all separate choices)
Overall, it looks nice, but it will take some getting used to and exploring to get comfortable with it all.
Sal :)

Anonymous 2010-04-01 06:01:31 -0500 Report

Showing my first and last name? My name is nationally unusual and combined with the state I'm from, it would be easy to locate me. That's not what I call privacy. I'm not fooling myself into thinking everyone online is a "friend".

I've only posted once since the changes. It was easy for me to keep up with before. I used to stay signed on for hours and during the day take a break and catch up. Now it seems I have to spend 5 to 10 minutes running around in circles to find one discussion or post I want to read. I've emailed a few friends since then but otherwise, not sure if I want to be here anymore. It seems like there's less people posting too. It's not just a matter of "getting used to it". It's time consuming and frustrating at best. Sorry, I know I don't sound polite or open minded like other members, but I'm new here and disappointed that something that really helped my life has turned into something I can barely use.

I agree with Renee (Dietcherry), I DO NOT like not being able to edit posts.

PLEASE bring edit posts back!

I am also having trouble navigating the site, but that's to be expected with most major changes like this. I'll just have to stumble around till I get the hang of it. I've not been to Arthritis connect yet so don't know if these changes are there also.

And Renee is right about the background too. Too bright. Perhaps a pastel color for a background might be a better choice.

We will be bringing edit posts back very soon! Also, we've hired a design to do some work on the colors. Hopefully we'll be able to tweak things to be more pleasing in the coming months.

Thanks! Keep us updated, we love to hear your feedback.

Birdy and Renee and others,
I feel certain that you and the other regulars on the site are not idiots. Please tell us what and where you're finding the site complicated and confusing. I'm happy to do what I can to 1) help explain how some of the new things work and 2) give your feedback to our product team so that we can continue to innovate and make the site better.

I agree with Renee - can't find my tracked items, and liked the option of editing my own posts - for many of the same reasons. And I prefer the discussions oldest first - the easier to follow them.

Otherwise, looks good.

Your tracked items are on your profile – choose the 'Only Tracked Items' link. Are there any missing?

We'll be adding more sorting options and filtering options for tracked items and discussions in the near future to better help you find what you're looking for, so bear with us. And keep the great feedback coming!

dietcherry 2010-03-17 09:36:06 -0500 Report

And you can no longer edit your replies?! Don't like that at all-can't fix typos or take back something you said in the heat of the moment! Let the flame wars begin! LOL

dietcherry 2010-03-17 09:32:13 -0500 Report

Well, the site is very bright! Think I preferred the deeper colors of the old site; it provided more contrast. I lost all my tracked items-bummer. I see where when you go to a discussion, you can track it, but the tab that used to be in the upper right-hand corner to click on tracked items is gone. (?) My email is now displayed where it had been set on private-didn't want that out there, even for a minute. Also, don't like the way newest discussion replies are posted first; prefer the old way of scrolling, even though it was hard when discussions got long! LOL Sorry to piss on the parade-sure I'll be back to tell you things I like! LOL

It looks like your email address is in the website field for some reasons. You can have it not show by changing the privacy settings to not show your website and/or, remove it from the website filed and set email to not display.
