I am so glad you posted this. I can empathize with you. I don't know how long I have had diabeties , but I was diagnosed in 2004 with type 2. My husband of 27 years died in December 2010. After that I moved with my daughter and her family when her husband got a job out of the town we lived in. At the time I still didn't quite know what to do with myself , but it took me a solid year to find a doctor here in this area only to be told at the first appointment that because I only have medicare they aren't taking new medicare patients.(?) My daughter rolled our car that had my chair lift on it. That was taken care of and then my chair brakes down and it took me the better part of this last year to find someone within 250 miles tofix it. While all of this was going on I didn't and still haven't seen a doctor. I have been trying to find a doctor in my area with no luck. So it has been almost 2 years that I have been out of medicine. I still test and watch what I eat. But I can tell you I am looking forward to the day I find a doctor and get back on my meds. I thought I wanted to give up and I feel God let me see how it would be for me if I did.
Thank you again and I hope you start feeling better soon. Have a blessed day.

No matter how long I've been away from my DC family, their is always someone with such a great attitude towards life and it's outlook. Im so glad to be a part of a wonderful family of friends. Life is only what you yourself make of it, and it's such a very short ride. So live it to the fullest and stay in good health, no matter how hard things can get at times.

I also agree. All we have is today. So what if we had a bad day yesterday, yesterday is gone. This is today, and all we really have. So EVERY today you have.. do your best to survive and you will thrive!!

Best of everything to you, you can do it.

I agree the 1st step is making a decision to not let this diease defeat you. There will be wonderful days and bad ones, you will be perfect somedays and mess up others. But just remember like anything else your new day can begin at anytime you want it to. If you mess up Monday at 10am you don't have to wait til Tues at 10am to start over. Began a new day on Monday. Be encouraged :)

That's right you have to take control of your own life. You can do it just take babysteps at first just to get started. Life is funny twist & turns, but its worth going on too!!! We all can make this journey together in this life, and live life to its fullest.

Thanks for posting — glad you did.
I agree… today, anyway.
I need to print this out and have it
at the ready for when I feel like I've
had it. I noticed that I go up & down
fairly frequently. This seems as tho
it will be a really good reference for me.

Stay strong and stay focused.
Sometimes it will seem hard, other times easy, but it's up to you, from the start, there is room for error because you're human but remember this, you are not the first, nor will you be the last to get diabetes.
But you can control it and be role model and walking spokesperson for Diabetes Awareness, take pride in every attempt you make to control it, because you can do it, by doing it you show others that they can too !

That is the attitude you need for diabetes, never give up. The devil uses these things to try and defeat us, but we need to stay strong and walk in Faith and defeat the devil.
We can do this, we are all together for this purpose, to live a better life.

Continue to hold onto this great attitude, even if things may get frusterating with your diabetes (as they tend to do) and not only will you survive, but you will be that much stronger!
