Since I have macular degeneration i have read up on diseases of the eye. From my understanding MD and diabetic retinopathy are 2 different diseases. One retina dr. that is on line claims he has never seen both diseases in one patient. You either get one or the other. Macular degeneration is referred to as age-related macular degeneration since it is the deteriation of the macular that comes with age. Some dr. think it can be kept at bay by taking anti-oxidants. My retina dr. does not proscribe to this.

Thanxs for the comment . I found out today I don't have retinopathy but do have MD. I got new glasses . One lense as a little strength but my left has way more to help my left eye that has MD.I'm happy that my left eye is getting better.Dr's sometimes don't have any positive things to say but thanks for coming. I believe the supplements I take help me out a lot.
