Just enjoyed watching this video about our diet and obesity (which of course both tie in to Type 2) and reading the info on how to combat it, in kids especially.

I am type 2 and I think they have it backwards - diabetes causes the weight gain and not the other way - when they study what causes the weight gain instead of shoving insulin in you - they might figure out how to cure T2 - oh yea I forgot - Dr's and Researchers do not know that word - CURE is an unknown to them - and being from the Engineering side - I figured out a long time ago - you either analyze or memorize - you figure out what doctors and researchers do - vs engineers.

Kids have too much leasure time, watching TV or playing video games all the time, They don't get out much any more and play and run no exercise at all.

And while they're sitting around they are also stuffing their faces with processed chips, cookies, candy, soda, etc. And then for meals it's pizza, fries, hot dogs on buns. No veggies, no fruits, and lots and lots of simple carbs. Those kids on the video didn't even recognized tomatoes when shown some.

tomatoes are a bad example - try something like lettuce as that is what dietitians want us to eat
