I sometimes have trouble with lows before bed time.
I have lows in the a.m. , afte I exercise and after I stretch in the evening. I think the only high's I get are with processed food and extreme stress - and of course when I am sick .

I walk 2.2 to 2.8 miles every night so thats why my sugar go low at night mornings they run anywhere from 75 to 98 Set my tradmill at 2.2 miles a hour and depending on how wrapped up in the movie I'm watching sometimes walk for more than a hour.
I also walk on the treadmill - 2.1 speed and for 45 minutes. I sometimes get low while walking and have to stop and treat my low bg - that gets frustrating. I usually end my evening with 1/2 hour of stretching and that always drops my sugar. I agree with the tv programs - sometimes I get wrapped up and dont watch how far I have walked! LOL!

Do you do any type of exercise? That is one thing I do and it helps in keeping my sugars down. I walk for a hour every night 2.4 to 2.8 miles every night plus what I do here at work average 6 to 7 miles a day. Just start out with small walks and build up from there.
I walk as much as i can,i problems with my hip and it sometimes bothers me .i try to walk on my elipical as much as i can,i aso babysit 2 of my grandsons ages 3 & 1 that really keeps me moving
That's good you are getting there. I have had 3 knee surgeries, can't take anything for the pain so had to learn to live with, I know how it is with walking and pain. You are on the right path just keep at it. 2 grandson's that age and still have strength to get up and walk, amazing

not more than 2 weeks ago, my numbers were averaging 210 BB, 180 BL, and 260 BD. Since then I have called my doc and upped my insulin, stopped caffeine intake, and worked on balancing my diet so that I get some carbs, protein and fat each time I eat. I think I may have been experiencing a liver dump as I wasn't getting many carbs at all at breakfast. I also walk 3-5 miles every day. I wear a pedometer so I can shoot for 10,000 steps daily. If it's too bad outside, I walk at work during lunch, or at the mall or up and down my stairs.

Roy531…i was just wondering …do you check your #s before and within 2 hr after meals…or just before?
When I was first diagnosed I would check mine before and after but lately only before, doctor told me to just check it once a week, but if I did that wouldn't know what was going on. Occasionally I will check it after I eat I did a couple of days ago just to be sure that I am still doing what I should be doing.

Today I'm not going to post my numbers because today they are good as always and I know that Markus asked me how I keep my numbers so low well to tell the truth it is very very hard for me because I have so much other stuff going on. So I have to keep my blood suger under control and to do that I work out three times a day and I dont eat bread, or any thing that will make my sugar go up. I some time work out four times a week. I count my carbs. and I'm on a strick diet, and I drink only Water. I hope this help out. let me know

I think your doing great. Don't pay attention to others. You know what you do. Keep doing what works for you and keep posting. I know what it takes to succeed. Hopefully other will find out what works for them. Be proud of your success and keep posting.

I just follow my meter. My meter is the judge of what I eat. Any foods that spike my blood sugar, I refuse to eat. I believe that lots of people, if they follow their meter can do the same. I see your doing an excellent job following yours. Keep up the good work

8 am (fast) was 134.
This morning my BS level was 165. Very higher than my norm. (60-80) which I do feel better when it is higher. But this morning I felt different, not bad , not good just normal. That good and bad. because I don't know if I should keep it that high or if it is good for me. But I feel okay now.LOLOL!!!

my doc has me shooting for between 80 and 130 for my fasting BG I am getting closer but sometimes still jumping…

What's wrong with 90?
I use to think I would be lucky to make it to 70. Most of my family on my fathers side died early. I have one uncle that is 86. I have another that is in his 70's. My father died at 56. I'm 52 now. Figure I would be lucky if I see 70. But hey you never know.
What did your father die from Kevin?
My dad died at 47. The whole year I was 47 I was nervous thinkin I might die. Talk about irrational fears … his cause of death … complications from a gunshot accident.
Heart attack
sorry to learn that.
It happened about 20 years ago. He had his first heart attack in his early 40's. He had several before the last one. It was just a mater of time. Lucky for me I have this problem with blood sugar. It has forced me to take care of myself. So far the heart seems to be fine. Don't know about the arteries. Will just have to wait and see.
Kev, I agree with Roy that you are taking great care of yourself…and that makes a big difference.
For what it is worth, I lost my mom before her 51st birthday and my sister after her 51st birthday. I also felt very strange outliving them both. I just turned 60 in January. Remember you get you genes from BOTH parents…I seem to have my dad's side of the genes…grandma was 96 when she passed (a stroke 6 weeks after the shock of my sister's death) and daddy 2 months before his 89th. His sister was around the same age when she passed too.
Keep doing what you are doing and enjoy your healthy life. Hugs
