Here we are again at the Beginning of a New Month. I hope that February was a good Month for all of you. Mine was OK and I am looking forward to March being even better.
Here are my numbers for last week. Mon. the 22nd 154 @ 3:04am 155 @ 1:13pm 155 @ 4:22pm and 145 @ 7:43pm.
Tues. 144@ 6:55am 243@ 4:22pm
Wed. 144@ 7:09am 226@ 4:32pm

Fri. Did not check my BS at all.

I weighted myself this morning and I am @261.2 pounds and my BS this morning @ 4:00am was 57 not bad for a new start for the Month. I will figure out what my average was for last month and post it later today for all to see. I will also post what my goal will be for this month later today. I have decided to put my goals online for all to see and see how I finish up at the end of this Month. I am only going to give my self 3 goals each Month from now on and will see how I do. Hope to see you all here this next Month. Fell free to post your goals for the Month also.

My numbers have been down for the last few days. Below 100 most of the A.M. readings and under 200 after most meals also. Not to bad if I may say so. Bill goes back out on the road starting at 10:00 this morning. I have to take him upto Gary, IN
After Bill is gone this time I am moving my Computer Desk out into the Front Room till all of the remodel is done in my Quilting/Computer room is done as I have found that I have been having trouble breathing in here and I don't have to be in here for very long either. I just start coughing and can't stop so will add more when I get this thing moved. Sorry not as long as usual and the tips will be on then also.

U KNOW U MIGHT EVEN FIND IT EASIER TO KEEP YOUR NUMBERS DOWN WITHOUT BILL. U MAY LOVE HIM BUT COOKING FOR 2 ORMORE IT IS HARDER TOKEEP WEIGHT AND BS DOWN.

WENT TO THERAPY YESTERDAY AND MY WEIGHT WAS 243.4 DOWN FROM THE 266 IT WAS WHEN I ENTERED THE HOSPITAL.. KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORK AND DONT WORRY ABOUT THE REMODLING. THE GUYS WILL GET IT DONE AND IT WILL LOOK REAL NICE

That is great in the weight loss! I need to get back on that myself. I am so glad that gardening is back on my daily "to do" list. That ways I get exercise but I don't feel like I have too. Makes it so much easier.

Sounds as if you are really busy. I hope you don't over due it with moving
something as big as a desk. That could be very heavy. Glad to hear your husband work again. Times are hard for so many.
I have been working on my exercise machine 40 minutes each day. Its
all my Dr. will allow at present. I wish I could o more, but am limited
for now.

Hi Edie, I know it can be disappointing when the numbers aren't what we want. My last A1C was 6.6 up .4 from
the visit before. I need to work harder to bring it down.
My Dr. says 6.2 is as high as he wants it and prefers an
even 6 for a type 2. I wish i could exercise more but am
limited to 40 minutes a day at this time due to blisters
on my leg. I wish you good luck with your new eating
plan. I hope and pray it will work for you.

WORKING WITH SORE LEGS CAN BE VERY HARD. IT SOUNDS LIKE U ARE DOING REAL WELL . I HATE TO SAY IT BU U JUST HAVE TO KEEP WORKING BUT U WILL DO IT AND DO A VERY GOOD JOB. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Good Evening All;
I went to the Doctors today I was disapointed in this visit though. My scale said I had lost another 1/2 a pound but the Doctors scale said I had gained 3 pounds this time. I go back to see him again in July on the 5th. The nurse came in and told me he was not ordering the Lab work this month but next time he will get it done. So now I have 4 months to lose the weight and bring down my numbers more before he pulls the blood.
I can't have pizza any more unless my numbers come down and stay down for awhile. I also have to cut Carbs at lunch and Dinner plus up the Protein and Fat at both meals to help control the numbers better and lose the weight he said. As each person is different he said to find the Combination that works best for me and stick with it and then we will see where I am at in July. Keep your fingers crossed that I find the magic combination for me with in the next week or two so that I have longer to get my self back in better shape. Also on an 1800 calorie diet for 2 weeks and then 1600 for one week alternate between them to get a head start on the weight loss and then stick with the 1800 one till I hit the plateau or my weight I want to be. Then see how many calories I need a day to stay at the weight I want to be or back on the 1600 calorie one to jump past the plateau and back to the 1800 again. If all goes well I hope to see how this goes and if I ever need to lose more weight again I will use this combination Diet.
Have to run for now need pain meds to get rid of the pain.

MAYBE WITH BILL BACK ON THE ROAD U CAN WORK ON YOUR WEIGHT.. I ISNT EASY TO LOSE WEIGHT SOMETIMES WHEN OTHERS ARE AROUND.

WELL WOULD U BELEIVE I HAVE ALREADY WALKED 725 FEET AND HERE IN ABOUT A HALF AN HOUR THE TECH AND I ARE GOING TO WALK OUTDOORS. THE KNEE IS STILL SORE AND GETS STIFF BUT IS IS A LOT BETTER THAN ALL THE POPPING FALLING AND PAIN I WAS HAVING 2 WEEKS AGO. REALLY I FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE WALKING NOW. THE ARE GOING TO ORDER A NEW WALKER AND I WILL HAVE TO STAY WITH THAT. THEY ARE REALLY GREAT PEOPLE TO WORK WITH HERE AND WILL WORK U AS HARD AS U WILL ALLOW THEM TO. GLAD I GOT THE KNEE REPLACLECED. FOR ALL OF U WHO HAVE SENT NOTES THANKS.

Welcome home Spiritwalker;
It is good to see you on here with all of us. I am glad you could finally find us. Bingo had Surgery on Monday on his left knee it looked alot better today then it did the day before yesterday. the swelling is only half of what it was then. And he looks alot better than he did just before the Surgery.
I got to get my post for today on here and then take my Darvocet and get to bed my back is burning with pain tonight. I think I overdid it this time.

Here is the First TIP ON CHAPTER 2 MANAGING MEDICATION
TIP 24: THIS ONE IS FOR TYPE 2
DO I NEED TO EAT SNACKS NOW THAT I'M TAKING DIABETES PILLS?
The way your pills work tells you whether you need snacks. Diabetes pills called sulfonylureas helpl the pancreas secrete insulin and can cause low blood glucose. If you take chlorpropamide (Diabinese),tolazamide (Tolinase), tolbutamide (orinase), or glimepiride (Amaryl), you probably need snacks, especially in the afternoon and evening.
Biguanides (Glucophage) help your body use insulin and decrease how much glucose your body makes and absorbs, so you don't need snacks.
Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors (Precose and Glyset) delay absorption of glucose and do not cause hypoglycemia, so you don't need a snack.
However, if you take these medications with another diabetes medication and have low blood glucose, treat it with glucose tablets or milk instead of fruit (or sugar-sweetened) drinks. Acarbose slows the break-down of sugar and may prevent your blood glucose from rising.
Meglitinides (Starlix and Prandin) help the pancreas release insulin and are taken with meals or large (250 calorie or more) snacks. Snacks at other times are not necessary. Thiazolidinediones (Actos and Avandia) make the body more sensitive to insulin; snacks are not needed.
Some diabetes pills are combinations of two medications, such as Glucovance, Avandament, and Metaglip; use the above precautions for those drugs. If you take insulin and diabetes pills, you will probably need to eat healthy snacks to match the peak action of your insulin.

TIP 25 THIS ONE IS ALSO FOR TYPE 2
CAN I ADJUST MY DIET TO AVOID THE SODE EFFECTS OF ACARBOSE (PRECOSE)?
Acarbose is a pill for type 2 diabetes that slows down the digestion of carbohydrates. This helps lower your blood glucose level after a meal. It is often used along with another kind of diabetes pill and is taken 3x a day with meals.
Acarbose may cause gas, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. This is because the carbohydrate you eat is not completely digested. It my help to increase the amount of medication slowly over a period of months. Temporarily eating a low-fiber diet may also help. Avoid rice. Peel and seed fruits and vegetables. It may also help to avoid gas-forming foods, such as beans and vegetables in the cabbage family. Other foods that may cause gas are milk, wheat germ, onions, carrots, celery, bananas, raisins, dried apricots, prune juice and sorbitol, a sugar alcohol used as a sweetener.

THE BEST SOURCE TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR MEDS DOES ETC. IS THE PAPERS THAT U GET WITH YOUR SCRIPTS. THEY HAVE A LOT OF INFO IN THEM AND HELPS A LOT.

Just dropping a line to let all know Bingo is now in the Hospital. Had knee surgery yesterday. He is in Saint Joesph Hospital in Room 362-1 and the Phone Number to his room is 765-456-5462 Please let him know you are thinking of him. I am going in to see him shortly and will let him know I put the phone number on here for all of his Friends.
He will be there yet for 1-2 more days they said.

JUST A SHORT NOTE BEFORE BREAKFAST . SURGERY WENT WELL AND REHAB IS HARD BUT WORTH IT. I GUESS ILL BE STAYING HERE IN THE HOSP. FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS. THEY HAVE PUT ME IN THE REHAB UNIT (ROOM 224). BUT IM DOING FINE AND WELL KEEP IN TOUCH AS I HAE COMPUTER NEAR MY ROOM I CAN USE.

That is good you can get onto a computer now. Hope all is going well. Will see you later as they are still working on getting the wood siding up and now are working on putting in the new back door. It is 45* out side and feels colder in here. I should burn alot of calories with shaking for being cold. LOL The furnace is off right now till the door goes in then I will turn up the temp to get warm again.

How much walking have you done today and how is the Therapy going so far. I saw Carol this morning in Galveston. Hope she got to visit more today. Talk to you all later.

WALKED 360 FEET IN THEREPY PLUS. HAVING ALL 4 THERIES IN THE AM WEARSS A PERSON OUT. ALSO STOOD UP WITHOUT HOLDING ON TO ANYTHING FOR A TOTATOF 16 MIN (9 THE 1ST TIME AND 7 THE SECOND) THE THERPIEST WAS VERY HAPPY.CAROL GOT HERE AT 12N JUST AS MY LUNCH WAS DELEIVERED AND LEFT AT 1:30 SHE ORDERED A GUEST TRAY AND ATE IT WHILE TALKING JTO MY BROTHER,HIS WIFE AND ME. I MADE HER STAY LANGER BY HAVING HER GET MY DIRTY CLOTHES AND DO SOME OTHER STUFF FOR ME. I THINK JI PLAYED IT SMART BY HAVCING THEM GIVE ME MY PAINAILLS BEFORE MY THEREPY KNOWING THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE ALL 4 TREATMENTS WITHIN 4 HRS. I AM DOING FINE ..

I enjoyed our visit today Bingo. Gerry told his Dad about the cost of the materials for your ramp and his dad said don't forget the nails and the strips for traction on the Ramp so I will get those figures for you also some time this week and then when he gets his pay check next week if he has enough he will get to work on your ramp for you he said.
I will try to get back up there tomorrow incase Carol don't come up again tomorrow to see you. I will get up there every other day till you get out. OK
