I was rediagnosed with type 2 diabetes in May of 09. I've seen a nutritionist. I check myself 3-5 times a day and still don't really understand it all. Will this site be of any help?

This site will really help, however, it isn't the total answer to your problems. Work with your doctor. You have to tell him your problems for only you know your diabetes better than anyone, however, your doctor will help with solutions!

I know for me, this site saved my life. I asked a lot of questions, posted a lot of discussions and learned a lot from other people's experiences. We are not doctors nor do we substitute for one, but there is a lot of sharing here that will help that light bulb to click on.

Is there something specific that you would like to start with? I found that focusing on one thing at a time until I was comfortable with it helped me a lot. So pick a topic, and we will try to help you out.

WELCOME to Diabetic Connect
YES! at least for me it has been helpful. As Harlen said What you get out of it depends on what you put in. (as with anything in life)
Hope to see you around in many of the discussions

Hi Jasper,

Yes, this site is the best as far as I'm concerned. Give yourself a break and allow yourself to digest all that you know about diabetes and then bite off some more. Ask questions on things you don't know and consider everything but only do the things that you talk over with you doctor first. I've had diabetes for 21 years now and I'm still learning new things.

Take Care,

Short answer: yes. You'll find lots of people who have been where you are and can give you advice, support, and encouragement.

There's a lot to learn about diabetes - that never stops - so you have to take it in small steps. Watch what you eat (have you met with a registered dietician or nutritionist?) and exercise.

I learn a lot just by reading about other people's experiences. So welcome!
