I hope I'm not being repetitive here, but I'm looking for current/former Contour users. I'm looking for an accurate meter (I know, hah!) with more features than my FreeStyle Lite.

For current users, what do you like about the meter and why do you stick with it?

For former users, what made you swtich to another meter?

I originally used a One Touch Ultra Smart and love it's features, just didn't like how many strips I wasted when I didn't get enough blood the first time and a large smaple size is needed.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

I am currently using the Contour. It seems to be ok. To me, a meter is just to read my sugar so I can write it down (4 doctors). I don't expect much from a meter so I'm rarely disappointed. I also have a cell phone, a master calendar (paper), and a Kindle. What else should I need?

I have used meters by OneTouch, Bayer and Freestyle.

My conclusion after doing so was that they were going to do the basic funtions of analyzing the blood for the glucose level and the additional features of holding readings in memory was important but my greatest asset was in purchasing the cable and software that allowed me to upload that data for future reference to my computer, well worth the $ 29.99 it cost me.
Now when I'm out in the field my laptop or netbook becomes a part of my diabetes survival kit, or I just wait until I get home to upload.
(I use a onetouch ultra mini for this)

Thanks for the input. I'm planning on trying software too. I was considering the new Contour USB but think I'll wait until they "new and improve it" after getting feedback on it.

I read reports on it both good and bad and I expected that but I love the small cableless package (usb) my worry was just if it failed constructively, haven't had the chance to see it personally, only on the web, but I do love the concept, if you go that route please post your findings here for others, we would appreciate the feedback !

I have ones and love it. I was using the Contour meter. But I love the Contour USB. You don't have to buy a progam for it. Just plug it into your computer. Let me know what you think of it.
