Have you ever been to the Doctor and have them give you a hard time for not being perfect and doing every thing they tell you? You know when you have done your best but to them you didnt drop all the lbs they think you shoud have or your #s where not as good as they would have liked?

I for one will never let a Doc do that to me.
I am lucky I do have a great Doc.

PS
This is not a Doc bashing I hear a lot of peaple telling me whats happened to them I was just wondering if any one here has been put off by a Doc?????

Harlen I had a great doctor who was part of a group. She was just the perfect doctor. Then she left and in walks this massive head jerk. He made it quite clear that he didnt like touching much less helping full figured women. When I would go in for a physical he would check my heart and reflexes and that was it. He acted like it would kill him. So I would make appts on other days and darn if his behind wasn't there again. geez. No matter what my problem was, his answer was lose some weight. I could go in for a sinus infection and he would say "Lose some weight". If I wanted a different answer I had to get a nurse to see me.
I finally left that practice and went to another doctor, but I learned a valuable lesson. Alot of doctors do not like to touch full figured women- some dont have a problem with it.
But I will always remember that doctor-darn barfbag!!!!!

And just for the record-Im not a stunt double for ORCA size. I have coke bottle curves. Not everybody can be a size 4…lol I'm built for comfort not speed..lolol

Back in the good old days, college…I was a size 5 on the bottom and a size 9 on top. Full figured, yes. In 7th grade, I was more "rounded", but I had a chorus teacher (Mr Nelson…we remember those things) who never could tell you my eye color, but could probably tell you my cup size. What an awful semester…I was fortunate the Choir teacher, Mr Smith (I had him for music appreciation) was nothing like the pervert, and I was in Choir after that. Helped to reinforce the idea to be more rounded as a preteen/teen. But, I had a pair of legs (short that I was at 5 '3 1/2)…as I got older, and rounded again, Mike loved me as much fat as thin. I agree with Harlen…some men are special…

I have had a couple like that in the past. For quite some time I have had good ones. I think some of them get wrapped up in themselves as "Gods", and look down on us as uneducated peons. They don't know how to balance professionalism, compasion, and bedside manners. I also think if it is done right ( not condescending), sometimes we need that kick in the butt. My last boss was highly educated, and well paid, but was dumb as a rock on common sense.
We have the power to choose how we manage our health, so if it isn't right, we need tp make the change.

I had a dr once that I thought was ok, didn't have any problems with him until he said I had an ulcer. I questioned his dx and did he change, he got really huffy. Talk about "god" syndrone. It turned out I was right, I didn't have an ulcer. He tried to say I had a pre-ulcerous condition. Whatever, that was over 20 years ago, and I still don't have an ulcer.

I think you are my twin, Dyanne. Only time one of my docs did not give me a hug was after the H1N1 business and I went in not feeling well. My PA promised me 2 hugs next well visit. My hug factor is one of the "gut feelings" I use in keeping doctors…even hugged husbands docs at the VA in SD…need to feel the connection.
