Hi All,

I haven't been here for a while, so here goes————Snow is all I see when I look out my door or window, It's kinda cold however I can't go out in it and I haven't been out for a while because of the snow. I will be able to go out when there is no more ice in the pathways so I can walk either around the block or to the bus to go somewhere I can walk without worring about falling. I can't wait until the sun starts shinning real hot so that the snow and ice will melt and the warmer weather comes so I can go out and soak up as much Vitamin D as I can and start feeling better and warmer.

I will do my best to come here more ofter so I can keep in touch with you all.

Hi Roger,

Well I have been putting off cooking and knitting and crocheting. Cooking because no one here will eat anything I make anymore and knitting and crocheting because my fingers are hurting too much so I can't hold the needles and yarn. Hopefully when the warmer weather gets here I will be able to finish the blanket I started a while ago. At least I will try to.'

Take care all.
Have a nice weekend all!!!!!!!!

Good morning (well, it is still barely morning here where I am)!

I just finished my little lunch of shredded beef with some balsamic vinegar/Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and a small portion of my mock garlic mashed potatoes (made with cauliflower). I still marvel over the faux mashed potatoes, if I didn't know better, I would swear that they are the real thing! The whole lunch was very good!

I just purchased a loaf of pueblo bread for one of my friends…it should make her happy - I kind of miss eating the stuff myself, but not enough to get too twisted around it!

It's a beautiful day here…sunny, though still somewhat cold. I tend to keep an eye on these things because I "passively" heat my enormous, energy-sucking home by opening the great room blinds and letting the sun flood in to heat up the tile on the floor. Theoretically, the stored heat should radiate through the room in the evening/night, but I think that whole effect lasts all of maybe 20 minutes after the sun goes down! LOL! I just can't justify turning on the furnace no matter how cold it gets…I'll sit, shivering in front of a space heater before I spend a small fortune on propane right now!

I am on my way outdoors in a moment just to soak up a little Vitamin D and warmth…gotta get out of the office for a bit!

A pleasant day to you all!

im from ohio schools are closed here today too we have had many snow days this year !!! ((HUGS)) julie

donna13 2010-02-26 12:59:49 -0600 Report

Around this time of year my kids hated snow days because they knew they'd have to make them up at the end of the year.

salmanda 2010-02-27 17:36:32 -0600 Report

As a teacher myself, I like a couple, but I hate very many because they do have to be made up…in June! The kids are done for the year at the end on May (or sooner) so adding days in June is a waste.

Good Morning friends,
What a wild night it was here in Maine last night. Rain and wind like I have never seen and heard! Schools closed today because there is no power. I am surprised I have power, but very grateful that I do.
Have a great day everyone!

We're freezing our butts off here in the heartland - currently 11 degrees but the sun WILL shine again today. Two days in a row! Wow! Because of the cold, everything is still covered in about 1/4 inch of ice - and it sparkles in the sun. I feel like I'm in the Dr. Zhivago movie! It's beautiful!!!!

donna13 2010-02-26 09:07:49 -0600 Report

I debated about posting on this because I don't want to minimize what you are going through. I haven't had steroids injected in my eye, but I did have injections of Lucentis. This was for a bleed in my eye caused by MD - it slows down the growth of vascular activity in the eye. I know that any steroid injection is painful, so my experience can't compare to yours. But I feel I have to talk about my experience in case others need to have eye injections. It was relatively painless, I only felt pressure as the needle was inserted. Of course they froze the eye before injecting. The worst part that I experienced was the ring they put in the eye to keep it open. This irritated my eye. I never saw the needle coming, I think I was blinded by the bright light shining in my eye. So if anyone needs to get injections, don't fear it too much. Depending on what is injected it can be relatively painless.

roger 2010-02-26 09:57:25 -0600 Report

donna first how is the ND doing now?
did the inj help a lot?
how often do u have it done?
u have my att !
# 2
yes for the most part the steroid inj is pain free MOST PART my first 6 inj (3 in each eye ) were done with an inj of numbing med not sure but think it was novacane or that type to many to remember . this was put in through my bottom eye lid just it to the eye socket not fun then sat wating to go numb then inj in the ete it self i do see the shot comming that is the hardest part i am told to look upand to at the heat vent in celing when needel pushes on the eye the vent moves and then popes out when needel goes through then when the steroid is inj it lookes like black ink and becous your eye sees upside down the steroid sets at the top of your vision and moves when u do i tell people it is like a cat sitting on your tv and his tail is down in frount of the screen waging back and forth
but this inj they did with out the first inj they did all the numbing with thick drops in my eye and i did feel it going in and did feel the steroid hitting the inside of my eye it even felt cold this change is so u can recover from it faster and u do the biggest plus was my eye did not feel like it was full of sand for 6 or so hr just a burning like i got soap in my eye so not shur which is worse the added feel of the shot or the feel of sand in eye but bottom line is it is all better then being blind the cataract is the proff i needed tha being blind for the most part will not be fun u can say i got my look at being blind and dont want any part of it for a long time
this mite not be the page to post all of this so sorry to thoes that did not want to know and donna if u want u can send me a note in my in box if u dont want to post here
may bee you and i can do a joint page on eye in j so not to take up yhis page let me know

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Yesterday was a great day. We went to one of our local parks for an auto tour and saw 6 adult bald eagles, 1 young bald eagle, a couple of deer and watched a couple of hawks hunting. Great, great day but I forgot my camera so I missed some great shots.

Just got back from getting fasting blood test. Starving! It's funny, quite often I don't get around to eating breakfast until 9:30 or 10:00, and never feel that hungry. But when I couldn't eat, Starving!

I work that way too. I don't understand it.

Since I work late, I am usually in bed until 11 am or so. When I have to take a blood test, I try to get up a little earlier (They don't like to draw blood after noon.) I walk out of the clinic starving.
