I have the same problem. I have been a type I diabetic since the age of 6 and once I took a break from college to pursue other things, the insurance dropped me and nobody will cover me now. Depending on where you live (I live in CO), there are some clinics that will accept people regardless of how much they make, and the copay will be a sliding scale based on income. I found one at a hospital and the care is fantastic and often times they will help me out with supplies. Let me know if I can give you more information or do some web searching or whatever—I would love to help!

Welcome Chrystal,

First off I want to state that I have only been a member on this site for a few weeks. But in that few weeks I have gotton so much info, support, and advise that I wouldn't have gotton otherwise or elsewhere for that matter. People here do care, and I hope that you find the help and support you need here as well. As for the insurance issue you are having, I am truely sorry to hear. As for advise I don't have much on that either but I would start with checking what others here have replied to you about and see if you can get some anwsers. Best of Luck and Wishes. I hope everything works out. Lee

Howdy chrystal
and WELCOME to DC!

We hear ya chrystal! Many of us here are in similar straits! Most, if not all of us understand the need to see Dr and get blood tested frequently. What you can do depends on your finances and where you live. There is a discussion which MAYS put up (Thanks, Mays) which lists possible places where to get help Here is the link to find it:

There are also discussions like this all over DC. There's a search function for discussion, a grey bar at the top right of this page called, appropriately enough [search discussions] click it and enter a search term and sift through the results.

I pray this helps you get the help you need. And now that you've found DC, please don't be a stranger! We'd love to hear from you on the discussion boards!

Blessings to you and yours!
