Small victory

I know it seems silly to be posting this but it is a pretty big deal for me. I have been struggling with my blood sugar levels for a long time now. I went to the doctor today and had dropped my A1c a whole point!!! It is still too high (8.5) but maybe next time I have it checked it will be 7.5. Thats my hope anyway. Just wanted to share my small victory with everyone.

That's a good sign too. We don't do this in huge steps but we fight it in little things. Every pound lost and every carb cut is a victory. When you improve your A1C, that's a big gain.

yes absolutely. little changes, little steps and it all amount to big things. keep it up.

Wow, tholz, tht is wonderful…I wish I could get mine down that low, but I am working on it!!! At my last Dr.s visit, mine was down to 6.5. I thought that was good, and it was compared to what it had been previously!!!:)

cc9 2010-02-03 09:02:41 -0600 Report

6.5 is good sue. and you can get to the healthy range as you get better and better in knowing how your body reacts to food, stress etc. keep it up gf.

Congratulations on that great victory. I would love to even be in 8 range of A1C. You are quite lucky and it is very obvious that you have been working hard on your control.

^5, It's certainly a step in the right direction. I'm due for an A1C test soon and I hope to follow your lead.

Well. . . Congratulations! As you stated one point may not seem like much, but if my math is correct that's a little more than a 10% overall reduction. Reducing your A1c slowly is still what? yup you've got it it's still reducing your A1c. Or, 81/2 more times with this result and your A1c will be 0 lol.Never quit trying it can be done and you can do it.
