Hi everyone. I have been having some very painful leg pains that goes from hip to feet in both legs. the pain keeps me up at night. I was wondering if this is common pain that affects diabetics or if this just my arthritis acting up. does this happen to any of you.

I had trouble with my legs at night pre dx and it was really just high blood sugars and some nueropathy.

when I started taking alpha lipoic acid I noticed an immediate impact, getting normal BGL also made an impact, Its no longer an issue and I get a good nights sleep.

It sounds like restless leg syndrome. You might mention it to
your Dr. A relative has this problem. She drinks a glass of tonic
water every night before going to bed and takes vitamin E
for it. She said it helps her. A hot bath or shower before bed might also help.

My restless leg syndrome keeps me moving and often in pain but I don't really think either of us is feeling anything diabetic related. Do warm baths help you? They sure do me and then I can often sleep better at night. Keep me posted.
