I don't know about the rest of you, but I am so tired of the dreary winter weather and the even drearier news on TV. So I thought I would share a couple of stories from the newspaper this morning that brightened my day.

#1) The picture of the 8 year old boy rescured in Haiti after being trapped in the rubble for over a week. He has arms opened wide as if in triumph and the biggest grin on his face. It was very hard to read the whole story with tears (of joy) rolling down my face.

2) The Palmer House, a high priced hotel in Chicago, has offered anyone who stayed there on their honeymoon a one night stay at the same price as they originally paid. A couple married over 60 years took them up on the offer, and paid $7.00 for the night. She had saved the receipt, which they needed, in her bridal book. When they were married it was in the middle of WW2.

We had some very good news in our local paper. A couple
from one of our local missions groups serving in Haiti have
been located. They were injured but alive. They are remaining
there to continue their work.

Just an update, I haven't found any more good news stories in the paper in all the days since I started this not one thing to make me smile. Only the comic strips, everything else is so depressing.

Day 2 of good news stories - on a cold drizzly Saturday there was not one in the newspaper today. And I really needed one. Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow.
