Does anyone know a good book in which my friend could purchase for her daughter Sue Ann who is a 10 year old with type I diabetes. Sue Ann was diagnosed whith type 1 3 weeks ago. And my friend, Rebecca, is having trouble trying to calm her daughter's fear of insulin needles and lancets? I try to talk to her daughter, because I to have diabetes, but she tells me; "You are bigger and older than me, so needles don't hurt you." Can someone please help!

just today I had a discussion with my boys about this topic, do not know if they had a book or not, will call and ask them their teacher told them all about it and even showed them a very old video on having to give yourself shots. I will write back tomorrow after boys get home and see if there is a good book. Most pharmacies have books geared towards children, also a doctor should be able to connect her up with one. good luck. jackie
