smoking puts you at risk of strokes, cancer, heart attacks and gangarene. its difficult enough to manage diabetes without adding the smoking ontop of it. but its ultimately your choice.

hi jeannie- this is my first post, been type 2 for 8 years now and been smoking for
30 years.last month i had a massive heart attack(100% blockage right side) i quit for 2 weeks (cold turkey) then relapsed and not to be graphic but i couldnt have a bowel movement for 8 days despite laxatives, softeners or anything else helped.
being frantic and in much pain i had a cup of decaf and a cigarette and instantly i was "regular" again.problem is now i'm smokin all the time again, around 35% of what i was smoking which was over 2 packs a day.i have alot of other health issues too and am beating myself up over this.doctor doesnt know about this yet
but i went to pharmacy yesterday and he said with all the meds im taking only wellbutrin might be feasible to take.patches and gums are not to be used cause of my heart.i,m homeless living in an rv for 4 years now and have chronic pain in feet and legs thanks to diabetes.gout, and 7 shingles episodes.but taking the pain pills and all the others never made me constipated just when i stopped smoking.i feel so guilty and scared!!!!! can anyone help me,at times i dont even wnt to live anymore…i just have so many health issues i have to deal with each day and very little money or strength left.

Are you sure it wasn't the coffee? I know it's hard to quit. You just have to keep trying. I know if I picked up one cigarette I would be smoking again! Hang in there. HUGS

O'Douls is probably one of the worst things a diabetic can drink. Non-alcoholic beers are pretty high in carb. If you are looking for a weak tasting beer, bud select 55 has about 2g carb and less than 2.5% alcohol.

Diabetic or not, smoking is NOT good for you. I';m sure there are added consequences if you smoke and are diabetic. Don't know about the O'douls.
