Hi, I just got back from my orthopedic doctor and have to have total kneereplacements on both knees,I'm having my right knee done first, the surgery will be on August 21,2008.Has anyone else had this done?If so how did it go? I can't stand the pain anymore and can't walk much, and the stairs are really hard to do anymore. Thanks for any input,Liz

How did your surgery go? I am facing knee replacement in the future but a shot of cortesone in the knee 3 months ago felt, at the time, like an instant cure. However, the "cure" didn't last and now I need another one if I am to continue hiking, taking the stairs whenever I can, and keep up with my grandchildren.

What is the expected healing time, and how long before you can go dancing again?

ohhh hun our thoughts and prayers will be with you.
My sister in law had her knees done, it does take some time to get back to full swing of life but she says it was the best thing she ever had done.
She can walk and drive without the pain.
Cold weather will get to her time to time but other wises shes doing really good!

Hugs and keep in touch with us.
