I have sharp shooting pain in my feet today. Is that a sign of neuropathy or is that when feet go numb?

I didn't know what it was until a Dr. said I had it this summer…I haven't done alot of research on it but I know that it has to do with small blood vessels and your nerves - for me I get that sharp pins and needle feeling, extreme sensitivity ( as I already mentioned), and also a burning and also numbing sensation in my toes. I don't take anything for it - if there is something you can take about it than I don't know about it, but I would love to know for when it's acting up. Ask your Dr., of course and good luck :)

I have nueorpathy, and that sounds like it can be it. I get sharp pains in my feet and legs…when my sugars were very uncontrolled it would even hurt to rub my legs or for my jeans to rub against them. That intesity of pain only lasted for a few days. Every now and than I get the sharp pains in my feet that last a few seconde, but it hasnt bothered me much since my sugars have been under better control. Good luck to you with that! :)

Its both for me. My foot is numb, but I experience sharp pain at time. Its feels like an electrical shock. If this happens often
there are new rx that you Dr. can tell you about.

Hi turtle,
I don't know about anyone else, but I too sometimes have sharp shooting pains in my feet, and I also have some nueropothy. I personally think that they go hand in hand, and I have yet to find anything that relieves this. Just another one of those things that we are blessed to live with and endure.
