I was reading the posts on low or high bs blues. It reminded me of the conversation I had with my daughter a while ago. I had been telling her about an article I had read that said people on a low-carb diet were crankier and crabbier than others not on the diet. After this conversation I heard a car honking and realized it was from a car that came every morning to pick up a neighbor and always leaned on the horn while waiting. I griped to my daughter about it, then started to laugh - said I was the crabby old neighbor who complained about everything. She said to me, "go eat a potato."

I have been extreme low carb (6-12-12) for over 3 and a half years. Not crabby at all. I think people think they can't eat anything and that makes them crabby.
My diet is far from that. I eat amazing well. Just check out some of the recipes on this website which is one of my favorites:

Also, I think that some of the low carbers may be low on viamin B and D. This will affect your mood. I supplement D with vitamin D3. I eat plenty of meat to keep my B levels up.

I find for myself that I need a balanced food program. I don't eat any white flour products such as bread, rice, pasta. No refined sugars. It seems to keep me moody swing free.

Yes, it's true. I did read this somewhere. The more I thought about it the more I realized that anyone on a restrictive diet is probably crankier than someone who is eating anything and everything. This article seemed to be aimed at the ones using a low-carb diet to lose weight, such as the Atkins diet. I don't think it was aimed at Diabetics. I wish I could remember where I read and I would copy it for here

This is so funny! I was cracking up! I also did not know that being on a low carb diet can make you cranky.
